Action Plan Achievements |
Operation Snowball can be a school or community-based program. The concept of cross-age teaching and peer helping is an integral part of the Operation Snowball program. Ongoing/year-round activities should include meeting as a team on a regular basis for social activities, training and event planning.
We want to ensure we are celebrating all the work you are accomplishing in your communities, as part of our updated benefits we will be rewarding Action Plan Achievements to teams/individuals when they complete programming. Each quarter a survey will be sent to Teams/Individuals requesting information on programming completed, this is when OS, Inc. will reward Action Plan Achievements. Please continue to share pictures and videos of programming with OS, Inc. All Snowball Teams will be listed, along with the Action Plan Achievements next to their name. These are a badge of honor and should be seen as such! Check out the programming available below
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that completes a Donation Drive of any kind for their community as part of their action plan. Donation Drives focus on the donation and collection of items such as non-perishable foods, clothes, basic essentials and toiletries, etc., for organizations and community members in need.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that participates in the DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day or hosts a Drug Take Back event of their own. Drug Take Back events focus on the safe return and discard of extra or unused prescription drugs to avoid misuse.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that participates in our gambling prevention program, Focus!, and uses the PhotoVoice Project in their action plan to bring awareness to youth gambling issues and challenges.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an event centered around Mental Health awareness. This can be a social campaign, a speaker, an in-person event or more.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an event in honor of Alcohol Awareness Month in April. Events can include large session speakers or workshops, social educational campaigns, a Walk/Run event and more.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an event in honor of Stomp Out Bullying/Bullying Prevention during the month of October. Events can include those suggested during Stomp Out Bullying Week or can include anything created by the team or individual!
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an event in honor of National Impaired Driving Prevention Month during December. Events, online or in-person, can focus on driving under the influence of any and all substances or on a specific substance such as alcohol.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an event in honor of Suicide Awareness Month in September. These events, whether online educational campaigns or in-person activities, should be thoughtfully organized, based on fact and safe for all to attend.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an event, online or in person, for Kick Butts Day in March. Kick Butts Day campaign that focuses on keeping our youth Tobacco-free.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that attends one of the free, pre-scheduled Snowball Virtual Trainings. The training calendar is accessible on the website and features a number of trainings each month on various topics including facilitation, leadership, mental health, diversity, and inclusion, ATOD and more!
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts an Overnight Weekend Retreat as part of their action plan. Overnight Weekend Retreats allow youth leaders to take part in team building, workshops, keynotes, and other activities over a longer span of time to increase leadership skills, prevention education and awareness, and learn about healthy decision making.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Pre-Prom Event, Post-Prom Event, or both. Pre- and Post-Prom Events are held as a fun, engaging way to continue the celebrations of Prom while encouraging students to not engage in substance use and make healthy decisions.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Red Ribbon Week event in October. Red Ribbon Week is a celebration of being drug-free, and events can include social campaigns, taking part in “Wear Red Day”, or more!
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Run/Walk Event. Run/Walk Events are predetermined racecourses that attendees can register to both run and walk, with the purpose of funds going to a specific cause or to the team/individual as a fundraiser. Run/Walk Events are a great way to raise awareness, educate and celebrate!
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Snowball Event.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Snowflake Event.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Snowflurry Event.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that hosts a Spirit Week Event. Spirit Weeks are a great way to bring awareness, educate or promote prevention by engaging your community or school with fun themes days and competitions.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that attends the Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute. CGTI is a week-long leadership conference held each July that focuses on prevention programming, education, leadership development and action planning to create a positive impact in our communities.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that attends the Operation Snowball & Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute Mid-Year. The Mid-Year is a weekend-long leadership conference held every January during MLK weekend. The Mid-Year focuses on prevention programming, education, leadership development and action planning to create a positive impact in our communities.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that completes 50% of their action plan created at Mid-Year or CGTI.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual Snowball Member that completes 100% of their action plan created at Mid-Year or CGTI.
The Action Team of the Year Award is an award given to an inspiring, hard-working Action Team each summer at the Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute. This Award is voted on by IABH and Volunteer Staff and presented at the Closing Ceremony the final Thursday of the conference.
The Outstanding Snowball Action Team Award is given to a dedicated, hard-working Action Team each winter at the Mid-Year Conference. This Action Team spreads ATOD prevention messaging throughout the year.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual celebrating five years of Snowball programming.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual celebrating ten years of Snowball programming.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual celebrating twenty years of Snowball programming.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual celebrating thirty years of Snowball programming.
This achievement is for any Action Team or Individual celebrating forty years of Snowball programming.
