Mental Health and Substance Use In-Person Training Monday, February 23 | 9:00am-11:00am CST Description: Youth substance use prevention has always been challenging, but never more so than in 2023: a youth mental health crisis is pushing teens to search for solutions to stress, depression, and anxiety, while large addiction-for-profit industries (such as the vaping and marijuana industries) are rushing forward to present "solutions" to these problems. Student advocacy in prevention is critical, but knowing what to focus on and how to get your message across to classmates can be challenging. Join Dr. Aaron Weiner, a clinical psychologist from Lake Forest and the President of the Society of Addiction Psychology, for an in-depth workshop on the trends driving teen substance use in 2023 and how students can use this knowledge to craft a message that resonates with their peers. |
